Cindy and her husband Pete, have two grown children and five grandchildren. They, and all of their families for many generations, were born and raised on the East Coast of South Florida. In 2002, they came up to Southwest Virginia to look at property and made a 3 year plan to move up from Florida permanently. When they were growing up, South Florida was farms and small communities. One visit to Southwest Virginia made them feel like they were finally back home. They were going to have a recreational farm business, but Pete kept insisting Cindy open a real estate business since she had been licensed in Florida since 1985. Pete won.

In February 2006, Cindy started Mountain Sky Properties in Bland and in 2010 opened two additional offices in Hillsville and Wytheville. Their son, Mike Thomas, moved up in 2012 with his family, to be a pertinent part of the business. Mike is a Real Estate Broker, Marketing Director and Photographer.

Cindy always thought she would have a ministry as part of her retirement in the mountains but realizes her real estate business allows her to minister to people everyday, especially her agents. She loves helping people with their important financial decisions, important family decisions and careers. Most people don’t realize that Realtors help people during happiest times or their life and the most trying times of their lives. Helping people is what Cindy lives for. Pete and Cindy love the outdoors, hiking, biking, boating, paddleboarding and kayaking and feel fortunate to call the New River Valley and Southwest Virginia their home. They also love to travel and the more they do, the more they realize how fortunate they are to call this place their home.
